Senior Airport Engineer
Reporting to: Airport Shift Lead
Location: Dublin Airport (DUB)
Role Purpose
As a Senior Airport Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and continuous operation of airport passenger processing systems. You will be the go-to technical expert on site, resolving complex issues, supporting colleagues, and proactively maintaining systems to deliver a seamless passenger experience.
Key Accountabilities
* Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on a wide range of airport passenger processing equipment.
* Respond to incidents and service requests logged by the Global Service Desk, resolving issues within agreed SLAs.
* Troubleshoot and resolve airline host systems, connectivity, and network-related issues.
* Act as an escalation point for Airport Technicians, ensuring timely resolution of more complex technical problems.
* Maintain clear and consistent communication with colleagues, senior stakeholders, and the Global Service Desk, providing regular progress updates on incidents.
* Provide on-site support, coaching, and training to Airport SSK Engineers to enhance their technical capability and confidence.
* Proactively identify required spare parts and liaise with the Global Service Desk to support efficient incident resolution.
* Conduct regular floor-walking and proactive system checks to identify and resolve issues before they impact operations.
* Provide backfill support for the Airport Shift Lead during periods of absence.
Requirements
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 2 years' experience as an Airport Technician or SSK Engineer.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft desktop environments.
* Solid understanding of network protocols, server hardware, and system configurations, or relevant IT qualifications.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, operational environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
