About the Role
As we continue to expand our services to meet the needs of those we care for, we currently have opportunities within our Orchard Community Care division at our homes in Corlea and Kilshrewley, Co. Longford, for full-time and part-time Social Care Workers.
We welcome you to join our team to help provide residential and day services to children and adults with medium to profound disabilities, including those with life-limiting conditions. Our multidisciplinary teams are supported by psychologists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.
Working on a shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines, providing direct support to the people we care for and contributing to their development, health, and wellbeing.
Essential Requirements:
* A qualification at Level 7 or above in a relevant area (e.g., Social Care, Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community)
* A full manual driving license with eligibility to drive in Ireland
* Full eligibility and availability to work with us
Desirable:
* At least one year's recent experience in the social services sector
Main Responsibilities:
* Support the day-to-day running of the service and deliver a person-centred approach to support and care
* Ensure personal plans are completed in line with regulations and standards
* Support individuals in their daily lives and choices
* Engage with families, clinicians, and the community
* Implement positive support programmes
* Promote independence and community integration
* Stay updated on social care policies and sectoral changes
* Motivate and encourage individuals to participate in activities
* Lead key working in collaboration with individuals supported
* Assist with personal care and daily needs
* Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and attending meetings
* Conduct health and safety checks, risk assessments, and report accordingly
* Manage medication in accordance with policies
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and families
* Work flexible shifts, including day and night
* Perform any other duties necessary to meet service needs
