Your Role in Synergy's Success
The IT Portfolio Delivery Manager will oversee Carbery’s global IT portfolio, ensuring predictable and effective delivery across multiple small IT teams while driving alignment to strategic goals. The role involves managing portfolio intake and prioritisation, coordinating cross‑functional delivery, facilitating Agile ceremonies as a certified Scrum Master, and maintaining clear governance, metrics and reporting. Working closely with regional IT leads and partners, the manager will balance capacity, manage risks, streamline processes, and promote consistent methods and tools across regions, all while supporting teams to focus on high‑value technical and strategic work.
How You Will Contribute
Project Portfolio Management
Run the IT Portfolio – to maintain a single, prioritised view of all work with visibility of status, value and risk. Oversee end‑to‑end delivery across multiple small teams, ensuring scope, timelines, budgets and quality standards are met. Coordinate cross‑functional team delivery, sequence work to manage dependencies and plan releases, maintain accurate backlogs and delivery roadmaps.
Stakeholder Communication
Act as the central point of communication across IT, business stakeholders and partners. Ensure alignment on goals, priorities and expectations across all stakeholders & partners. Provide clear cadences and executive‑ready portfolio reporting with transparent performance measures, focused on status, risks, decisions, timing and impacts.
Process Optimization
Apply right‑sized Agile practices where appropriate. Continuously improve project tracking, reporting and delivery processes to minimise bottlenecks. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IT project delivery, solution adoption and business impact. Standardise reporting and metrics to reduce friction and improve predictability.
Resource Management
Manage internal and external resources, including onboarding and coordinating external partners during peaks, ensuring alignment to standards. Ensure resource allocation aligns with team and business objectives. Provide Scrum Master support to facilitate sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
Risk Management
Anticipate and identify potential risks and roadblocks proactively, developing mitigation strategies to ensure seamless delivery. Manage scope and change control, ensuring decisions and trade‑offs are logged and communicated.
Global Alignment
Drive consistency in delivery methods, tools and reporting across regions. Facilitate cross‑regional prioritisation, balancing strategic initiatives with BAU needs. Collaborate with regional teams to implement global solutions effectively.
Team Support
Support team members by removing delivery‑related administrative burdens, allowing them to focus on technical and strategic tasks. Lead team retrospectives and embed continuous improvement.

The candidate should also be adaptable to evolving customer needs and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to align with organisational objectives.
