Job Description Summary You will assist with all engineering activities relating to the introduction of a new product being manufactured and you will perform tasks associated with these activities including the key areas of equipment installation, calibration, and process troubleshooting. Our vision for Peripheral Intervention at BD Our Peripheral Intervention (PI) business unit offers a comprehensive range of medical products, devices and services for the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease, cancer detection, and end-stage renal disease and maintenance. About the role This is a 12-month FTC role central to the successful introduction and manufacturing of new products, supporting engineering activities from early development through full-scale production. You will be actively involved in equipment installation, calibration, and process troubleshooting, while contributing to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. By working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help ensure that products meet customer and regulatory requirements while remaining cost-effective and scalable. As a key contributor to engineering projects, you will lead and manage technical execution from project inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The role requires strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, clear technical communication, and proactive problem-solving to overcome engineering challenges. Through continuous improvement initiatives, technical leadership, and mentorship, you will directly influence project success and support the delivery of innovative technology solutions to the business. Main responsibilities will include: Lead end-to-end engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring technical excellence, on-time delivery, and budget adherence. Drive new product introduction (NPI) activities, supporting equipment installation, validation, calibration, and ramp-up into manufacturing. Develop, optimize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and equipment to achieve high efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution. Identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical and process challenges, applying structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, risk assessments, technical reports, and design reviews. Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications across all project deliverables. Monitor project performance using key metrics, proactively managing risks, changes, and resource constraints. Champion continuous improvement initiatives, ????cing best practices, new technologies, and innovative engineering solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and professional development within the team. About you Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a project engineering or similar role, preferably within a technology-driven or manufacturing environment. Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex engineering projects. Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools is highly desirable.
