Job Summary
The Development Enablement Manager is responsible for cross-cutting practices that enable a high-performing development organization. This role combines responsibility for SDLC, quality assurance, DevOps, and SOX compliance to enable development teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently and in accordance with enterprise standards.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
SDLC Management & Process Excellence
Manage and optimize the software development lifecycle framework in alignment with Acuity standards
Create and maintain SDLC documentation, templates, and guidelines
Monitor adherence to development processes and identify improvement opportunities
Define and track development metrics and KPIs
Provide guidance on Agile/Scrum practices without direct facilitation
Support teams in sprint planning and estimation
Help teams optimize their development workflows
Coach on best practices for collaboration and delivery
DevOps and CI/CD Pipeline Management
Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines
Ensure proper branching strategies and version control practices
Manage DevOps best practices and standards across development teams
Manage build automation, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure as code practices
Monitor pipeline performance, build times, and deployment success rates
Quality Assurance
Oversee QA strategies and testing practices across teams
Establish quality metrics and acceptance criteria
Drive test automation initiatives and coverage improvements
Monitor defect trends and quality indicators
UAT and Production Deployment Coordination
Coordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders
SOX Compliance & Controls
Ensure development processes meet SOX compliance requirements
Maintain documentation for development controls and segregation of duties
Support audit activities with evidence and documentation
Implement and monitor change management protocols
Ensure proper access controls and approval workflows
Skills And Minimum Experience Required
10-15 years in software development with progression to leadership roles
5-7 years in process management, technical leadership, or enablement capacity
Hands‑on development experience with understanding of modern architectures
Experience with SOX compliance in software development environments
Background in establishing development standards and best practices
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and principles
Deep knowledge of SDLC methodologies and development best practices
Familiarity with multiple technology stacks and platforms
Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code concepts
Knowledge of security, performance, and scalability patterns
Experience with quality assurance frameworks and methodologies
Process & Governance
Agile/Scrum methodology expertise with proven experience in Agile Transformations
Understanding of SOX controls and IT audit requirements
Experience with governance frameworks and compliance processes
An agile certification (CSM, CSPO, SAFe, etc.)
Soft Skills
Strong technical credibility to influence a cross functional team of Product Managers, developers, architects, QA, and DevOps engineers
Excellent facilitation and communication abilities
Balance between standardization and team autonomy
Strategic thinking with practical implementation skills
Collaborative approach to driving change across teams
