Chief People Officer - Carbery Group
Global Food, Ingredients & Nutrition | Cork - Ireland (Hybrid)
Carbery Group is seeking an accomplished Chief People Officer / CHRO to co-create the future of work. This isn't just about HR as usual - it's about shaping how people lead, grow, and thrive in a global, entrepreneurial environment.
You’ll lead culture, leadership, and talent transformation - with the support of a progressive Executive team and a company that genuinely values its people.
This is a rare opportunity for a senior people leader who operates as a true peer to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team - bringing sound judgement, critical thinking and executive presence to the decisions that will shape the organisation over the next decade.
Farmer-owned and purpose-led, Carbery Group combines deep heritage from its Irish beginnings in West Cork in 1965 with global ambition.
With operations in the US, the UK, Brazil, Italy, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia and producing dairy and nutritional ingredients for more than 50 markets globally, they continue to expand.
This business is scaling across Dairy, Taste and Nutrition, investing in advanced scientific innovation and building leadership capability as a long‑term differentiator, making them one of the most innovative players in its category.
Key Responsibilities
Report to the CEO and sit as a full member of the Executive Leadership Team, sharing accountability for overall business performance and long‑term value creation
Co‑lead and co‑create global strategy, ensuring leadership, culture and organisational capability are embedded in company‑wide decision‑making.
Develop, coach and strengthen a global senior leadership community, building confidence, judgement and the ability to lead through complexity.
Act as a trusted sounding board to the CEO and executive peers, synthesising insight, asking incisive questions and identifying root causes.
Lead and empower a strong global HR leadership team, acting as a leader‑of‑leaders rather than a tactical operator.
Provide steady leadership through growth, change and acquisition integration, maintaining clarity, momentum and trust.
Key Experience & Capabilities
Executive‑level people leadership experience operating at CPO / CHRO level within a global or multi‑region organisation.
Demonstrated experience partnering with CEOs and executive teams to shape and deliver business strategy.
Strong critical thinking and organisational sense‑making capability, with the confidence to challenge constructively.
Proven success developing and coaching senior leaders, taking already strong leadership teams further, truly challenges thinking.
Experience operating across multiple geographies (US, EMEA and/or APAC), balancing global consistency with local nuance.
Comfort operating in complexity, ambiguity and fast‑moving environments.
What's in It for You
This is a seat at the top table - with collective responsibility for business success, not just HR outcomes.
As Carbery continues to evolve and grow, the CPO will play a critical role in integrating people, cultures, and structures into a unified, values‑aligned organisation.
You will:
Shape the future leadership and culture of a global, science‑led organisation at a defining moment in its evolution
Operate as a genuine strategic partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, influencing the whole business
Lead with purpose in a farmer‑owned organisation where long‑term stewardship and community impact genuinely matter
Build on a strong people foundation, evolving - not resetting - an established leadership and culture agenda
Leave a lasting imprint on how leadership is experienced across regions, functions and future generations of leaders
