Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Lead to join their team in Cork. This is a great opportunity for a motivated design professional to take the lead on projects across sectors such as Mission Critical, Pharma, Med Tech, and Manufacturing. In this role, you`ll guide and coordinate design projects, work closely with the Design Director, support junior engineers, and help strengthen our client`s overall design capability. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate mechanical design for Building Services projects. Work with the Design Director to establish design standards and best practices. Act as the main point of contact for clients, managing relationships and project requirements. Oversee the production of 2D/3D BIM models, drawings, calculations, and equipment schedules. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineers and technicians. Review and approve designs to ensure compliance with Building Regulations, BCaR, and project specifications. Collaborate with tender, bid, site, vendor, and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the design team. Qualifications, Skills & Experience Degree (Level 7/8) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field. 7+ years experience in mechanical or building services design, with leadership experience. Background in regulated industries (e.g., cleanrooms, data centres, healthcare). Familiarity with BIM and software such as Revit MEP, BIM 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Navisworks is an advantage. Strong track record of delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects in compliance with regulations. Excellent communication and client-facing skills. Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers. Technical expertise with a proactive, solution-focused approach. Professional membership (CIBSE, ASHRAE, Engineers Ireland, etc.) is encouraged. #J-18808-Ljbffr
