Fundraising Officer

Fundraising is a critical part of sustaining Threshold's services and advocacy, and they are seeking an experienced fundraiser to join their team.

Job Title: Fundraising Officer
Reporting to: Head of Fundraising and Communications
Location: Dublin 7
Job Type: Full Time - Monday to Friday
Annual Salary: €38,000

Introduction and Overview

Threshold is Ireland's leading national tenant support charity, working to prevent homelessness and campaign for housing as a basic right. They provide advice, advocacy, and practical support to renters and people at risk of losing their homes, while also working to create long-term change in housing policy.

The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering excellent donor care and supporting the delivery of multi-channel fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate will combine excellent organisational skills with creativity, data-driven decision making, and a strong ability to develop donor loyalty and grow income.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Act as the first point of contact for donors, ensuring prompt and professional responses to queries.
2. Lead on donor care, handling enquiries, and delivering best-practice stewardship.
3. Manage donation processing, ensuring proper coding, allocation, and timely acknowledgements.
4. Maintain accurate and comprehensive donor records on Salesforce, ensuring GDPR compliance and monthly reconciliations.
5. Support the Assistant Fundraising Manager in developing and delivering multi-channel donor retention, donor development and donor acquisition campaigns (newsletters, direct mail, tax)
6. Create regular reports on fundraising activities and campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and Salesforce.
7. Analyse donor trends to inform campaign and retention strategies.
8. Prepare financial and impact reports for specific projects and funders as required.
9. Manage and optimise online fundraising platforms such as iRaiser, Benevity, idonate.
10. Assist in developing proposals with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners.
11. Help identify and develop new income streams while maximising existing opportunities.
12. Collaborate on the production of fundraising materials and promotional content.
13. Assist in creating and scheduling fundraising-focused social media content.
14. Ensure the fundraising section of the Threshold website is current and optimised for donor conversion.
15. Manage email communications to supporters, including appeals and newsletters.
16. Contribute to the overall strategic development of the organisation.
17. Carry out other reasonable duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the fundraising department.

Person Specification: Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
Essential

18. At least two years' experience in a similar fundraising role.
19. Proven experience delivering excellent donor care and stewardship.
20. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling supporter communications.
21. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
22. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, with experience using fundraising databases (Salesforce desirable).
23. Ability to analyse data and prepare reports to support decision making.
24. Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.

Desirable

25. Experience in grant, trust, or corporate fundraising.
26. Experience delivering digital fundraising campaigns.
27. Demonstrable project management skills.

Post Conditions

28. Salary: €38,000 pro rata
29. Full-time position (subject to a 6-month probationary period) Mon- Fri, 9am-5.30pm.
30. 22 days annual leave plus additional paid leave at Christmas.
