Job Description
The Colas Group operates internationally in all aspects of transport infrastructure. As part of the global organisation, Colas Ireland is primarily involved in the distribution of bitumen products, emulsion and emulsifier manufacturing, and the provision of specialist road maintenance services on the national, regional and local road network.
In Ireland, Colas operates from 14 locations across the island of Ireland.
Mission
The Project Engineer will be involved in the planning, supervision, and delivery of Works Orders consisting of routine and non-routine maintenance on 343 structures on the National Road and Motorway Network in various counties in Ireland. The routine maintenance works will be carried out annually over a four-year period. The engineer will ensure compliance with contract specifications and TII's specifications and requirements.
Main Responsibilities
1. Site Setting Out and Supervision
2. Plan and Coordinate Gangs and Subcontractors
3. Quantifying and Implementation of Project Proposals for Internal & Client Review
4. Compile Budget Costing for Commercial Team
5. Develop and Maintain Excellent Working Relationships with Local Authority Contacts, TII Representatives, Emergency Services, Suppliers, Sub-Contractors, and Stakeholders in General
6. Liaise with TII Representatives Regarding Works & Surveys
7. Produce, Document, and Maintain All RFI's, TQ's, CVI's, Variation Orders Etc., Appropriate to Each Work Order
8. Succeed in Managing the Delivery of Works Compliant with Contract Standards
9. Ensure Compliance of Health, Safety, and Environment Aspects of All Works to the Highest Standards
10. Ensure that All Employees and Subcontractors Under Their Control are Compliant with Company and Legislative HSE Standards
11. Implement Traffic Management in Compliance with Colas JV and National Standards
12. Monitor, Control, & Report Subcontractor Work Performance and Quality
13. Maintain Daily Production Records and Diary for All Works
14. Maintain Field Map Logs and Data Captured from Site
15. Compile Information for the Safety File for All Specified Work Orders
16. Compile and Deliver Reports as Required in Accordance with the Contract
17. Communicate with Line Manager & Senior Management, Providing Progress Information and Identifying Issues of Concern in Good Time
Profile
1. Civil/Construction or Related Degree Industry Recognised Safety-Training to Relevant Standard
