Parker Stewart is urgently seeking an experienced vision engineer for a leading medical device company based in Cork.
The successful candidate will vision-related continuous improvement updates, obsolescence upgrade projects and provide vision training for engineering personnel. This role will require occasional travel for training and project implementation
Job Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and implement vision systems for automated processes.
* Conduct research to enhance existing vision technology and methodologies.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and vision system specifications.
* Test and troubleshoot vision systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Provide technical support and training to team members and stakeholders on vision technologies.
* Keep abreast of the latest advancements in vision technology and propose innovative solutions.
* Document all design processes, system tests, and outcomes for future reference.
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of computer vision algorithms and machine learning techniques.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++.
* Experience with image processing libraries and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow).
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Desired Experience:
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in image processing or vision system design.
* Hands-on experience with hardware integration and sensor data acquisition.
* Proven track record in deploying vision systems in industrial or commercial applications.
* Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
* Prior experience in a research and development role is a plus.
