Job Summary
We are seeking a Credit Insurance Actuary to join our European Mortgage team in Dublin. The role focuses on pricing, underwriting and delivering high‑impact risk transfer solutions (predominately Significant Risk Transfer, SRT) for leading European banks.
Key Responsibilities
Price new transactions and update internal pricing models.
Underwrite new transactions, estimating probability of default (frequency) and loss given default (severity) for loan portfolios.
Produce high‑quality underwriting memos that inform executive decision‑making.
Review and document characteristics (composition analysis) of loan portfolios on potential transactions.
Develop pricing strategies that optimise risk‑adjusted returns and support sustainable growth in the European mortgage / SRT portfolio.
Act as a subject‑matter expert on European banking and SRT market trends, providing thought leadership to internal teams.
Guide regulatory, rating agency and economic capital frameworks to inform pricing decisions.
Perform quarterly portfolio analysis and deliver strategic insights to senior stakeholders, influencing pricing and capital allocation decisions.
Qualifications
Nearly / recently qualified actuary with 5+ years industry experience.
Prior experience in a related field such as credit risk / insurance, actuarial pricing, general insurance, banking or European / US mortgage markets.
Strong communication skills with ability to synthesise and present complex findings to stakeholders.
Proficiency in advanced Excel, PowerPoint and general actuarial modelling methods.
Data analytics / programming skills (Python, R, SQL) are advantageous but not essential.
European language skills are desirable.
