The Opportunity
The Senior Analyst is responsible for coordinating and supporting business change management of the various market systems for the Operations Office. This includes understanding the purpose of each market system and the key drivers of each change as well as the oversight of all change requests within the Operations Office and working cross functionally to assess and prioritise change based on business needs.
The role also includes supporting the business in the drafting of some specific change requests, as well as testing and release support for the various market systems. The role holder is also responsible for oversight of testing planning, and in some cases drafting of test cases and carrying out testing to ensure end to end business functionality of system changes are acceptable. In addition, the role holder will provide subject matter expertise and analysis to support the Operations Office readiness for releases as well as the resolution of issues, investigation of queries and support of market audits.
The Team
The Operations Development and Compliance function comprises of a skilled team of professionals with backgrounds in engineering and business/commerce. We partner with our colleagues in other Offices to deliver the changes to support the development of the power system and market. The team are responsible for ensuring that we are operationally ready for the future market and system and that the appropriate technology solutions are delivered. We also manage and enable changes to our Market Codes and Grid Codes as well as ensuring highest levels of compliance and related governance.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Third level qualification in a relevant discipline.
* At least 4 years relevant technical experience.
* Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving capability.
* Effective communicator and excellent report writing capability.
* Experience of software testing and system release programmes.
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment with a flexible approach.
* Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
* Experience working within a regulated business is desirable.
