Overview
The Dylan Hotel, one of Dublin's leading luxury hotels, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused
Director of Sales & Marketing
to join its senior management team.
This role is ideally suited to a proactive leader who thrives in driving revenue, building brand presence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for maximising sales performance, strengthening the Dylan brand, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Sales, Marketing, and Events functions within the hotel.
Working closely with the General Manager, the successful candidate will lead commercial strategy, inspire high-performing teams, and ensure the hotel achieves strong revenue growth while maintaining its distinctive luxury positioning.
Key Role Responsibilities
Partner with the General Manager and Revenue Manager to develop and deliver strategic commercial plans, including the annual Sales & Marketing plan aligned with hotel objectives and budget.
Lead, manage, and develop the Sales, Marketing, Events, and support Revenue team, driving individual KPIs, team objectives, and overall revenue performance while fostering a collaborative and positive team culture.
Drive total hotel revenue across all market segments, identifying new business opportunities, securing group and corporate business, contracting key accounts, and nurturing long-term client relationships.
Represent The Dylan Hotel at industry events, tradeshows, networking functions, and sales missions.
Host client events, FAM trips, and media visits as required, including occasional international travel.
Manage the Sales & Marketing expense budget, ensuring spend, forecasts, and ROI align with business expectations.
Oversee all marketing activity, brand positioning, advertising, digital campaigns, PR initiatives, and online reputation management to ensure brand consistency and market relevance.
Produce accurate weekly, monthly, and annual sales, marketing, and revenue reports.
Work closely with Revenue Management and the General Manager to maintain up-to-date forecasts, pricing strategies, and demand planning throughout the year.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, tourism initiatives, and evolving consumer behaviour, adapting strategies to maintain competitive advantage in the Dublin luxury hospitality market.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong and comprehensive knowledge of hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue management practices.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing commercial teams.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
Solid understanding of brand management, digital marketing tools, and data-driven decision-making.
Highly organised, proactive, and capable of prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment.
Guest-centric mindset with a clear understanding of internal and external customer needs.
Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours in line with business requirements.
Preferred Candidate
Minimum 3 years experience in a senior sales leadership role
Knowledge and experience of the luxury segment
Enjoys proactive sales
Hospitality Background
Proven ability to direct, lead and motivate sales teams
