Role: Tax Analyst
This role will support the management of tax compliance and tax risk for the Group, provide tax‑technical advice on ad‑hoc consultancy projects, manage relationships with tax authorities, and support internal and external tax reporting requirements. As a key member of a small tax team for a dynamic group, this role will gain exposure to a wide variety of commercial and tax issues and challenges.
What you’ll be doing
Support and manage the Group’s Corporation Tax compliance obligations including the preparation and submission of Corporation Tax Returns for ROI / UK entities and management of tax payment deadlines; deal with Revenue/HMRC enquiries on Corporation Tax Returns.
Support with the Group’s Pillar II obligations.
Support on transfer pricing requirements for the Group.
Provide tax advice and guidance to divisional teams across all tax heads, strengthening tax knowledge to meet compliance obligations throughout the Group.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of all relevant tax legislation, regulations and Revenue and HMRC practice.
Provide tax advice to Finance and Commercial teams regarding commercial initiatives and activities (including property/store acquisitions and disposals).
Assist with tax structuring projects, implementation, documentation and ensuring all tax risks are mitigated.
Support tax due diligence for potential acquisitions and tax integration of new acquisitions.
Support the tax reporting requirements for the Group for quarterly forecast, 3‑year plan, and year‑end close/audit, including tax disclosures for the annual Group accounts and all Group statutory entities.
What we are looking for
Fully qualified Institute of Tax Chartered Tax Advisor.
Professional Accountancy qualification (optional).
3–4 years of Big 4 experience.
Working knowledge of Alphatax desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Structured, organised and methodical with a deadline focus and attention to detail.
Ability to manage a diverse and complex workload.
Ability to interpret tax legislation/regulations and convert into practical advice to the business.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage relationships across the Group and with third parties.
