The Clinical Midwife/Nurse Specialist (CM/MS) (CM/NM2) or Candidate will lead the development, coordination and evaluation of bereavement services in line with hospital, HSE policies and national standards ensuring high quality, family centred care.
The CMS/CNS in Bereavement and Loss is a key member of the maternity and obstetric workforce, working collaboratively with midwives, obstetricians, neonatologists and members of the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist care to women and bereaved families.
The CMS/CNS will provide sensitive, comprehensive support for parents and families in the event of any perinatal loss where there are identifiable remains.
Qualifications and Experience:
(i) Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann) or entitled to be so registered.
(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregrate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality of bereavement
(iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
(iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
