As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day transport operations and driving continued growth. This involves managing a strong fleet of vehicles, including maintenance management as part of the role. You will need to command the respect of your drivers from the get-go and foster a positive performance-driven culture focused on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
You will be responsible for lead, mentor, and develop a team of drivers, planners, and transport staff. Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachograph rules, driver hours, and vehicle maintenance requirements. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drivers, planners, and transport staff.
• Foster a positive, performance-driven culture focused on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
• Manage driver scheduling, performance reviews, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee daily transport operations to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Plan and optimize routes, resources, and fleet utilization to maximize productivity.
• Monitor KPIs such as delivery accuracy, on-time performance, fuel usage, and cost control.
• Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachograph rules, driver hours, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 35 years experience in a Transport Manager or similar logistics leadership role.
• Proven experience managing drivers and transport operations within Ireland.
• Strong understanding of road transport legislation and compliance requirements.
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification essential.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS), route planning tools, and MS Office.
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
