Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test software for class I, II and III medical devices per software standards, e.g. IEC62304.
Provide hands‑on leadership, coaching, mentoring, and software engineering best practices to entry‑level software engineers.
Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other engineering artifacts, ensuring timely delivery to meet program commitments.
Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team, recognizing areas for improvement and working with others to develop and document process improvements.
Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will increase team velocity.
Work collaboratively across functions and with internal and external partners to deliver high‑quality products to the marketplace.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of technical experience.
Passion for creating high quality software and documentation
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Strong problem‑solving skills
Proficiency working in a team environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience in software design for medical devices
Experience with Agile methodologies and Test‑Driven Development
Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, C#, .NET, Python, Angular, Xamarin
Object‑oriented design and implementation.

Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package. Pay range: Ireland: €51,280.00 – €76,920.00. This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
