Location: Kildare Town
The Supported Employment Team support people with an intellectual disability to gain and maintain a paid job of their choice in the open labour market. The Job Coach provides support to individuals in their jobs in a variety of locations where the job has been sourced.
Responsibilities
* Support the individual to enhance their life by ensuring that the goals and objectives outlined in their Individual Support Plan under the area of Work and Career are achieved.
* Facilitate the Individual to learn new skills by and when appropriate, assist the Service User to complete job specific and work related tasks in accordance with their employers standards.
* Where relevant, make adaptations or modifications to the individuals job structure based on the employers requirements and the individuals needs.
* Liaise with the employer and relevant co-workers with regard to supporting the individual while in work.
* Support each person where appropriate with regards to their personal and intimate care in accordance with Kares Personal and Intimate Care Policy.
* Maintain all necessary records in accordance with Kares managing records policy and assist with ensuring all records are up to date.
* Maintain high professional standards and confidentiality at all times.
* In line with the organisations key priorities identify, develop and maintain potential partnerships that are beneficial to Service Users and the organisation.
Requirements
* Qualification: QQI Level 5 Intellectual Disability Practice/Social Care/Relevant
* Have an interest in supporting people with an intellectual disability to be part of their community through their job
* Have the ability to develop and implement systematic training plans for individuals with an intellectual disability (on the job training)
* IT skills and the ability to carry out administrative tasks e.g., e-mail correspondence, report writing, use of assistive technology
* Enjoy working on your own with a person with an intellectual disability
* Have the ability to build trusting and respectful relationships with the individual, their family and their employer and co-workers
* Be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
* Essential - Have a full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
