Job Purpose
To manage the home according to its Statement of Purpose, ensuring a safe and caring environment compliant with childcare legislation, national standards, and Ashdale Care policies.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure care practices comply with legislation, standards, and best practices.
* Promote high standards of physical care, hygiene, and safety.
* Manage the home to meet the needs of children and promote positive outcomes.
* Participate in admission processes and develop individual care plans.
* Develop, implement, and monitor care plans.
* Attend and contribute to meetings, representing the home positively and advocating for children and families.
* Maintain good relationships with families and professionals.
* Ensure integration of therapeutic and person-centered models within care practices.
* Provide reports to social workers and attend court as needed.
* Conduct audits, develop governance systems, and foster community links.
Staff Management
* Provide leadership and guidance.
* Manage staff schedules and induction.
* Supervise and appraise staff, promote learning and development.
Management of Finances and Resources
* Assist with budget control and financial procedures.
* Maintain a safe, homely environment and ensure good condition of facilities and grounds.
Personal Development
* Promote high standards of child care.
* Address poor practices immediately and report concerns.
* Engage in continuous professional development.
* Participate in duty rosters and sleep-in duties.

Skills and Criteria
