Job Title: Business Development Manager
Job Description:
The role of a Business Development Manager is pivotal in enhancing the wholesale partnership between Gala Retailers and BWG. The primary objective is to develop and optimize various operations, thereby driving business growth.
Reporting to the BWG Head of Gala Retail, this position plays a crucial role in optimizing business potential by providing expert advice to customers on all aspects of store operations. This has a direct impact on customer performance and contributes significantly to overall brand growth.
1. Project Management of store developments, including new stores and upgrades, and supporting the development of in-store Gala retail concepts in existing stores.
2. Advising retailers on their financial planning, building sales and P&L projections.
3. Supporting customer sales growth by communicating local and national retail trends.
4. Ensuring optimum performance of the company's business activities in a designated sales area.
5. Developing effective business relationships with customers in the area.
6. Providing customers with best practice advice, store operation advice, margin optimization, and assistance in their businesses.
7. To identify and expand new business opportunities in the area.
8. Achieving agreed sales targets in the area.
9. Maximizing retailer loyalty in the region.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Relevant retail experience in a customer-focused, standards-driven food retail organization.
* Excellent understanding of margins and appreciation for effective margin management in store operations.
* Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and motivated to achieve results.
* Leaving certificate standard education, ideally with a relevant third-level business qualification.
* Strong numerical and IT skills (EPOS experience an advantage).
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
