About the Land Development Agency
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact.
It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government.
It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn.
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes.
It also works in partnership with the country's largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government's Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Purpose of the Role
This is a new role to reflect the growing Asset Management function with a rapidly expanding organisation.
The Accounts Technician will support the Asset Management team to initially support the management of the commercial and residential (specifically, NARPS) property portfolios.
The Accounts Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling income and expenditure, processing property-related transactions, and assisting with reporting on both property portfolios.
The role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to join a growing team in a dynamic environment with scope for development as the organisation evolves.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of all income and expenditure related to managed residential and commercial properties.
Process and reconcile property income, service charge, and property-related income.
Record and monitor property operating expenses, utilities, maintenance, and contractor invoices.
Assist in the preparation of property budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Assist in the preparation of rent reviews, in compliance with lease terms
Support the calculation and reconciliation of service charge accounts.
Reconcile arrears and liaise with relevant property managers and letting manager on overdue accounts.
Maintain accurate asset registers, rental schedules, financial records and internal control procedures.
Support both internal and external audit requirements.
Liaise with tenants, contractors, and service suppliers regarding payments, charges, and accounts queries.
Prepare weekly/monthly reports for internal meetings and project reviews as required.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, lease agreements, and statutory obligations.
Provide administrative and financial support to the wider Asset Management team.
Prepare comprehensive reports for the AM leadership team, sub-committees, and the Board as needed.
Pro-active in the development of key partnerships, working with key stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, delivery of services and growth opportunities for the organisation.
To ensure the LDA are compliant with all statutory, contractual, Health and Safety legislation and relevant regulators requirements.
Proactively develop Technical, Management and Leadership skills to ensure career development.
Other duties as may be required based on the evolving operational requirements of the LDA.
Requirements
ATI (Level 6) qualified, or equivalent
Third level qualification in a related discipline is an advantage.
A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a similar role in a property, real estate, asset management or related organisation.
Familiarity with lease structures, rent, service charges, and property-related financial processes required.
Desired Criteria
Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively.
Solutions and results focused.
Excellent attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal in both day-to-day work as well as formal briefings.
Ability to work well within a team environment.
