Sensitive to the cultural diversity of Concern’s contexts, the job holder will work with stakeholders across the organisation to drive Concern’s ambition to progress workplace health and wellbeing.Through the provision of workplace support and advice the job holder will promote a positive health and wellbeing culture across the organisation. The role is expected to ensure that consistent standards are maintained while supporting a working environment that is in keeping with the organisation’s values.This role works across all of Concern’s Programme Countries, Concern’s subsidiary offices and the Head Office in Dublin and has a remit for over 3,000 staff in 24 countries along with Head and Support Office staff.Responsibilities:As part of the People Management Team, contribute to the development of the organisation’s People Strategy and management of the People functionLead the team in the development and rollout of critical operational procedures including, pre and post deployment medical checks and briefings, standard operating procedures for managing illness, identification and assessment of service providers and procedures to be followed during medical evacuationLead the team in the implementation of the current Mental Health and Psychosocial Support policy and strategy and development and rollout of next phase strategyLead the team in monitoring and tracking of health, illness and wellbeing trends, to inform initiatives and mitigate future hazardsWork with Managers (including the Senior Management Team and Country Directors) and key staff to identify, support and manage health and wellbeing risks to staff; developing mitigation measures in support of Concern’s work in both development and emergency contextsManage the identification of and routine liaison with insurance providers ensuring that effective medivac and insurance claims procedures are in placeManage as required, time critical medical evacuationsThrough establishing and maintaining internal and external networks, stay abreast of best practice and trends in the humanitarian sector, with a specific focus on health and wellbeingIdentify and track key performance indicators to measure the return on investment in health and wellbeing initiativesDemonstrate leadership on workplace equality, diversity and inclusion and role model a positive safeguarding ethosAccept, advance and pursue any new objectives or responsibilities that may be assigned by the People DirectorAll managers are responsible for upholding and promoting Concern’s values, demonstrating leadership on workplace equality, diversity and inclusion, and role modelling a positive safeguarding ethosAll managers are required to actively participate in any emergency response as and when requiredRole Holder Requirements:A primary adult general nursing qualification, with current registration and a post graduate qualificationExperience leading a team in an organisation involving delivery of health care and health promotion, with a preference for management experience in the humanitarian sectorStrong critical thinking skillsAbility to manage high-level relationships at organisational levelStrong communication skills and proven capacity to build relationshipsProven capacity to deliver resultsA post graduate qualification in tropical medicine, occupational health and safety, public health, or demonstrable years of working experience at an equivalent levelKnowledge and experience managing and coordinating mental health and psychosocial support, staff welfare or staff wellbeing would be advantageousFrench language fluency is desirableFor further information on the role, benefits and working at Concern, please see details on our website or by using the Apply button.
