A Dublin-based client is seeking a
highly experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM)
to lead the full end-to-end delivery of complex networking and security infrastructure projects. This position involves managing the entire project lifecycle — from planning and design through to implementation, testing, and customer handover.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional technical teams, external partners, and client stakeholders, ensuring that all projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to high technical standards.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of the planning, coordination, and execution of technical infrastructure projects.
* Collaborate with internal engineers and architects to define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
* Oversee procurement processes for networking and security equipment.
* Manage project risks, budget constraints, scheduling, and scope changes.
* Serve as the main liaison between customers, internal teams, and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
* Drive alignment across stakeholders through regular progress updates, steering meetings, and reporting.
* Guide and motivate project contributors (internal and external) to ensure project milestones are met.
* Participate in initial deployment, configuration, and integration activities as needed.
* Identify and flag new commercial opportunities during ongoing engagements.
Key Requirements
* 8+ years of proven experience leading IT or telecoms infrastructure projects, preferably in customer-facing environments.
* Demonstrated success managing delivery of high-impact projects under pressure and tight deadlines.
* Strong technical knowledge of networking components such as switches, routers, firewalls, and common protocols (e.g., IP, 4G/5G).
* Practical experience with hands-on deployment, system integration, and supporting engineers during implementation phases.
* Skilled in producing and reviewing technical documentation and network diagrams (e.g., using Microsoft Visio).
* Familiarity with data centre environments including structured cabling, racking, and power distribution.
* Experience working with enterprise and carrier-grade hardware from vendors such as Cisco, IBM, HP, Checkpoint, F5, etc.
* Strong vendor and third-party management experience, particularly within mobile network environments.
* Up-to-date awareness of telecoms and networking technologies, standards, and customer expectations.
* Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse technical teams.
* Comfortable working on-site with clients and open to short-notice travel within the Dublin area.
* Full, clean driving license is required.
Technical & Software Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
* Deep understanding of network security principles and architecture.
* Able to support and collaborate effectively with engineers during delivery phases.
