Job Title: Social Care Worker
Reports to: Social Care Team Leader
Location: Dublin or Kildare area
Working Hours:
* 169 hours per month for full time on a 7‑day roster / 84.5 hours per month for part time
* 281 hours annual leave WTE (pro rata for part time positions)
* Flexible work hours including sleepovers, weekends, and bank holidays
* 50% premium payment paid for Sunday hours
* Double time payment for Bank Holiday Hours
* Saturday shift allowance
* Sleepover shift allowance
Renumeration: €36,320 – €39,787 (pro rata for part time positions)
Contract Type: Full‑time / 1‑year Fixed Term Contract
Job Purpose
* Person‑Centred and Inclusive support to people with intellectual disabilities and older adults to live self‑determined, dignified, and meaningful lives in community‑based settings.
* Provide an inclusive society where all people are valued and treated as equal citizens.
* Uphold a human‑rights‑based approach and promote a low‑arousal, non‑aversive support philosophy tailored to both disability and age‑related needs, including dementia, frailty, and chronic illness.
* Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and in maintaining optimal quality of life, whether through skill‑building, community participation, or age‑appropriate care practices.
* Promote independence, offer emotional support, and provide assistance with daily living activities.
* Collaborate closely with team leaders, families, clinical teams, and external agencies to ensure safe, responsive, and high‑quality care across the lifespan.

* Support people to manage their physical health, wellbeing and social connections.
* Facilitate inclusion in education, employment, volunteering, and leisure.
* Assist with daily routines, medication, personal care, community access and skill‑building.
* Deliver care using low‑arousal and autism‑informed approaches.
* Promote safeguarding and uphold confidentiality.
* Promote socially valued roles within peoples communities.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant third‑level qualification in Social Care or a related field.
* Experience supporting adults with complex needs (e.g., intellectual disability, mental health, autism, dementia care).
Desirable
* Full, clean driving license.
* Knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards for disability and older person services.
* Dementia Awareness & Ageing Sensitivity.
