We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and continuously improve all aspects of health, safety, environmental, and compliance performance across our operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
This position requires regular collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders across multiple locations. Travel to sites within Europe will be required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and management systems in line with Irish and European legislation.
Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.
Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
Monitor compliance with environmental permits, waste management, emissions, and sustainability initiatives.
Deliver EHS training and awareness programmes to employees and contractors.
Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and KPI tracking systems.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and certification bodies as required.
Support operational teams in achieving continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
Ensure emergency response procedures and business continuity plans are maintained and regularly tested.
Assist with contractor management and permit‑to‑work systems.
Provide EHS guidance and support for new projects, installations, and operational changes.
Travel to European sites to support EHS initiatives, audits, training, and standardisation activities.
Requirements
Third‑level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an EHS management role within manufacturing, engineering, construction, or industrial sectors.
Strong knowledge of Irish and EU EHS legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Strong problem‑solving and incident investigation capabilities.
Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel within Europe.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience working across multiple international sites.
Knowledge of sustainability and environmental improvement programmes.
Experience in contractor and project safety management.
