Job Overview
The Resident Engineer plays a pivotal role in the administration of contracts, working under the Employer's Representative.
This includes drafting progress reports, monthly valuations, claims determination letters, responses to Conciliation Statements of Claim, and other contractor's correspondence.
Detailed records are kept and made available for inspection by authorised personnel.
Information related to delays, industrial disputes, adverse physical conditions, and disputes with sub-contractors and landowners is also recorded.
Site meetings will be attended regularly, with proceedings minuted for circulation to all relevant personnel.
The Resident Engineer keeps site supervisory staff informed on matters that may impact their work.
They remain aware of the duties of contractors, sub-contractors, and others under Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work legislation.
Liaising with statutory undertakers and stakeholders is required.
