Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - Pharma - Consultancy - Dublin - Frankfurt
Office/Project Location: Dublin and Frankfurt
Employment Type: Long term contract min 12 months
Work Location: This role will require the candidate initially to be based from the Dublin office for the procurement phase and then move to site fulltime in Frankfurt
Pay: €80-€100 Per Hour Rate

Our Client is one of Ireland's leading EPCm consultancies with offices in Dublin and Cork.
A Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor is required to join the team based in Sandyford, Dublin to work on Life Science Projects. The role will predominately focus on a specific project within the Life Sciences sector (Pharma/Biopharma). The procurement phase of the project is underway and will be managed from the Dublin office with some travel required to Frankfort for client and contractor meetings. Following the procurement phase of the project the candidate will be required to be site based in Frankfurt.
The successful candidate will be equally capable of working independently or as part of a larger team and will report directly to the managing surveyor.
Pre-Contract responsibilities would include:
Preparing capital cost estimates,
Assisting in tendering procedures and contract arrangements,
Prepare pricing documents for tender packages
During the tendering phase responsibilities would include:
Providing advice on tendering procedures
Draft instructions to tenderers
Development of tender evaluation criteria
Drafting of PQQ questionnaires
Handling queries during tender period
Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions
Negotiation with tenderers
Post Contract duties would include:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager and responsible for commercial aspects on the project.
Preparation of Interim Valuations.
Preparation of monthly Cost Reporting.
Client and Contractor meetings.
Negotiation and agreement of Variations.
Review and assessment of Contract Claims.
Agreement of Final Accounts
Requirements
Quantity Surveying degree
8+ years' Experience in the Construction Industry.
Life Science Project experience required.
Ability to work well within a team and to collaborate with others.
Must be commercially aware, flexible and have ambition to progress within the organisation.
Drive and determination to manage strict budgets to ensure the commercial success of the project.
Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.
Be capable of working independently and directly with client team
