They may be required to attend college and study for their dental nursing qualification, in addition to the day to day duties of their role as Trainee Dental Nurse/ReceptionistTasks and Responsibilities:Dental NursingWorking closely with the dentist, providing chair side assistance to ensure the professional, accurate and timely completion of treatments and relevant records as required for patient careKeep the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate, according to the practice's health and safety policy, manufacturers' instructions and the Code of Practice relating to infection control as set out by the Dental Council of Ireland.Ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained for the smooth running of the practice, and inform appointed staff member when stock levels diminishLiaise with reception team to ensure smooth patient communication and transfer of recordsReceptionGreeting and registering patients on a day to day basis at the reception deskProviding information and reassurance to patients about their treatmentHandling, recording and resolving patient complaints in line with company guidelinesPhone and email management throughout the dayDaily cashing up exercise for the practiceAppointment book management to ensure maximisation of working hoursProviding support to clinicians by sending prescriptions, referral letters, x-rays etcPerforming any local administration tasks such as filing/scanning/lodgements/postagePayor claim administration for GMS/PRSI/VHI/DeCareEligibility checkingPayment reconciliationRunning daily, weekly and monthly reports from ExactCompletion of various spreadsheets for accounts purposes (i.e. cash sheet, trackers etc)Key holder dutiesAssisting the practice manager to achieve agreed company KPIsQualifications/Experience:Essential:Minimum 1 year of customer facing administration/reception experience required.Leaving certificate or equivalent.Authorised to work in Ireland.Fluent English.Desired:Dental/medical reception or admin experience is an added advantage.Dental Care Ireland aims to create a culture and working climate which encourages the commitment and motivation of all staff, we are an equal opportunity employer and committed to providing a workplace that is free from discrimination of all types.
