Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Account Manager to join a dynamic and growth-focused team in the food industry. This role is ideal for a results-driven sales professional with experience managing key accounts in retail and foodservice. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue, building lasting client relationships, and identifying opportunities for expansion in domestic and export markets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and grow a portfolio of key retail and foodservice partners, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
2. Meet and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
3. Develop and execute account plans to drive customer retention and increase sales volume, revenue, and profit margins.
4. Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
5. Contribute to the development and implementation of an export strategy, particularly targeting growth in the UK and Europe.
6. Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to provide tailored solutions to clients.
7. Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to shape sales strategy.
8. Lead contract negotiations, including pricing and terms, in line with company policies.
9. Work closely with cross-functional departments—marketing, planning, supply chain, and logistics—to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
10. Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and reports to senior management.
11. Represent the brand at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.

Requirements:

* Proven experience in B2B sales and key account management, ideally within the food or FMCG sector.
* Strong negotiation and deal-closing capabilities.
* Skilled in analysing sales data and developing strategic plans.
* Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Exceptional time management, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
* A relevant third-level qualification in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or a related discipline.
* 3–5 years of sales/account management experience in the food or FMCG industry.
* Solid understanding of food distribution channels (retail, wholesale, and foodservice).
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and compliance standards.
* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations and product development.
