OFS Global Energy Solutions is a leading provider of integrated energy and engineering services, delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable solutions across the power and oil & gas sectors. Due to continued expansion within the data centre space, we are currently recruiting for 3 Power Plant Operators for a major new project within the Dublin area. The ideal profile will have previous experience working in an operations role within a power plant and/or have worked as an Electrician in the Industrial sector.
This role will require you to work on a rotational shift schedule: 12-hour shifts, 4 days on / 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off.
The Opportunity
The Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of small industrial Gas Turbines and associated Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment. This includes following OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, ensuring compliance with technical procedures, managing both planned and unplanned maintenance events, and maintaining performance standards aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate small industrial gas turbines in accordance with OEM O&M manuals and established operating procedures.
* Perform day‑to‑day operations of the power plant, including start‑up, monitoring, shutdown, and adjustments to maintain optimal plant performance.
* Conduct regular inspections, plant walkdowns, and condition monitoring of gas turbines equipment and BOP systems.
* Manage planned shutdowns and unplanned breakdowns, coordinating activities with internal teams, OEMs, and the client.
* Maintain accurate logs and records of all operations activities, incidents, and equipment performance in accordance with OEM standards.
* Interface with OEM technical teams and client representatives on technical and administrative matters.
* Report anomalies, deviations, or potential issues and assist in troubleshooting and corrective action implementation.
* Ensure all activities comply with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures.
* Support the plant's continuous improvement efforts by identifying and implementing operational efficiencies.
Role Requirements
* Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering or relevant technical field.
* Minimum 3 years of experience operating gas turbines or working in a similar power plant environment (Ideal but not essential)
* Electricians with Industrial experience will also be considered for this role
* Hands‑on experience in plant operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
* Ability to interpret technical manuals and documentation.
* Strong problem‑solving skills, especially under pressure.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence and safety.
