Job Title: Administrator
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive administrator to join our team at the Bernal Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the SSPC team, including room booking, calendar management, and event coordination.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience in working in both industrial and academic environments, and the ability to work independently on initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as an internal point of contact for the centre and centre events
* Provide administration support for centre activities, including room booking, calendar management, attendance polls, communications, travel bookings, invoicing and reporting
* Organize centre meetings locally and nationally, take notes and prepare minutes
* Administer events such as centre symposia, conferences, seminars, requiring a high degree of personal initiative and responsibility
* Support the organization of internal and external activities/events, collating and recording defined information documentation as requested, to ensure activities are administered efficiently
* Organize and coordinate travel and business development activities for the Centre Director, COO, and other operations team members as required
* Maintain financial, centre, meeting and review data to contribute to resource planning
* Gather data, prepare reports and other materials, using standard tools, standard formats and software
* Manage own work from start to finish
* Attend centre events and activities as necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proficient with Microsoft 365
* Excellent organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and on initiative
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in an administrative role
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent
Benefits:
This is a full-time temporary position, working 35 hours per week. The contract is initially anticipated to be until the end of June 2026 and will be reviewed closer to the time. The rate of pay is starting at €18.59 per hour.
