This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager or Director to lead and build a VAT team within a professional services firm.
You will join the senior leadership group, advising a diverse client portfolio on VAT matters and identifying opportunities to grow VAT services.
The firm are will consider a specialist in a particular VAT area or if you operate as a generalist.
You'll be personable, commercially minded, and comfortable working closely with the Tax Partner on proposals and client development.
About the position
Identify and advise on VAT planning opportunities
Act as a key point of contact for clients on VAT matters
Build and develop a high-performing VAT team
Delegate work effectively and oversee delivery
Monitor work-in-progress and ensure team profitability
Raise awareness of VAT issues and encourage best practice
Liaise with partners and managers to ensure VAT matters are managed appropriately
Deliver training on VAT matters as required
Oversee and support the training and development of junior team members
About the person
Up-to-date technical knowledge of VAT issues
Proven experience delivering tax projects
Strong team-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and support colleague development
A proactive approach to projects and advisory work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging appropriately
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines
Strong commercial awareness and exceptional attention to detail
