Our client is seeking a Junior Project Engineer (Utilities) to support the delivery of capital projects across a busy manufacturing site.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is looking to build hands‑on experience in project delivery within a live production environment, working closely with experienced engineers and cross‑functional teams.
The position will support the execution of CapEx projects, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of site investment plans in line with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support
Assist in the delivery of utilities-focused CapEx projects from scope through to execution and handover
Support tracking of project scope, budget, quality, and timelines
Contribute to ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently
Utilities & Technical Exposure
Gain hands‑on experience across utilities systems including HVAC, chilled water, LTHW, drainage, and water systems
Support installation, commissioning, and basic troubleshooting activities onsite
Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination
Assist with coordinating contractors and vendors on site
Support communication between engineering, operations, and external partners
Site Integration & Operations Support
Work with operations teams to minimise disruption during project execution
Support integration of new systems into existing site infrastructure
Compliance & Safety
Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) procedures and site standards
Support permit‑to‑work systems and risk assessments
Assist with project documentation and handover requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar)
1–3 years’ experience in engineering or project support within manufacturing, FMCG, or a regulated environment (placements/internships considered)
Exposure to utilities systems (HVAC, water systems, etc.) is beneficial
Strong willingness to learn and develop within a project environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
