The Networks & Civil, Environmental Engineering (NCEE) Departmentwithin Engineering and Major Projects providesarange of planning, design, construction, operation &maintenance,and management services required for electricity industry infrastructure projects in Ireland. The NCEE Planning and Environmental Group Ecology Team delivers ecology services from feasibility through construction stage of Network projects for ESB. The Senior Team Lead will lead this team and also provide mentoring and professional development of junior staff across department. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will cover the items below: Manage andco-ordinate NCEEecology inputsrequiredtosuccessfully deliverprojects to approved scope, budget and programme. Undertake the role ofLead Ecologistwhere required. Where a team member is theLead Ecologist, ensure that the roles and responsibilities are fully understood and provide support as necessary. Act as subject matter expert and key influenceronengineering and ecology solutions for Network projects and engage with external stakeholders on ESB Networks behalf. Lead in the operation and maintenance of existing infrastructure to ensure compliance with legislation. Be accountable for the overall service and performance of the team and manage any matters that result from team performance. Prioritise workload within the team and balancepartner expectationswith available resources and project deadlines. Strategically identify and develop any required external support in the forms of Framework Agreements for consultants or contractors to supportthe delivery ofNCEEservices. Be accountable for quality assurance and auditing of team deliverables including work of external consultants and providing support and guidance on the implementation of Quality Procedures across NCEE, E&MP and ESB. Experience and Qualifications Essential Minimum 7 yearsrelevantpost qualification experience. Strong communications skillsand report writing skills. A demonstrated track record in the supporting the ecological aspects related to delivery of significant civil and structural projects and/or related engineering works packages. A track record inleading or participating in multi-disciplinary teams. Strong commercial awareness with clear understanding of how theirprojectworkimpacts on the business case. Critical thinking skills and judgement required to ensure significant ecological risks areidentified and managed on projects. A strong ability to identify project work requirements and to initiate necessary work. Proven ability in management of internal and external stakeholders. Desirable Team management experience. Full driving licence and access to a car. Qualifications Essential Level 8 Ecology Degree or equivalent qualification. A proven track record of successfully project managing and co-authoring ecology reports. An up to date working knowledge of regulatory requirements within Ireland related to ecology. A professional manner with strong inter-personal skills, with an ability to communicate at all levels and deliver high results. Strong stakeholder management skills and proven track record of managing internal and external stakeholders including contributing to correspondence and consultation with statutory bodies. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and problem solve with other key stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and structured approach to project management and commercial aspects of projects. A full, clean valid driving license and access to a car. Desirable Level 9 Ecology Degree or equivalent qualification. Chartered status in a recognised professional ecology/environmental institute. Location This role is based in EMP Dublin or Cork office but travel to project locations as required, is a key requirement of the role. The successful candidate may combine working from home within the Republic of Ireland, with attendance at base for at least two days in-person collaboration. Site visits is also a feature of this role which will require a certain amount of travel within Ireland. General It is not anticipated that a staff member still on probation (either new entrant probation or a probation from a previous promotion) will be eligible to apply for a promotional vacancy. Typically, an individual must have completed their probation and should have at least two years' experience in their current role before being eligible to apply for a promotion. An application from a staff member who does not meet the above criteria must have the approval of both the senior line manager and the HRM within the BU before progressing to application Note: For staff currently on non-monthly pay frequency, any promotion to Bands 5 and above will result in a change in pay frequency to monthly.
