Sustainability Research Manager, Dublin
Location/Office Policy: 10 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 with Hybrid Working. 3 days per week in the office – Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.
What Is The Role
The Sustainability Research team within Group Strategy & Sustainability is recruiting for three specialist roles focusing on Decarbonisation Methodologies & Analytics, Sustainability Materiality Assessment, and Sustainability Models & Insights.
Role
This team is the bank's centre of expertise for sustainability research and thought leadership, portfolio‑level climate and nature materiality assessment, sustainability strategy development, and decarbonisation models and analytics. Roles are within Group Strategy & Sustainability ELT area, requiring analytical rigour, responsiveness, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key accountabilities
* Decarbonisation Methodologies & Analytics: Develop, refine, maintain Group's decarbonisation and transition‑pathway models; apply leading methodologies (NZBA, SBTi, PCAF, IEA scenarios); generate insights for strategic planning; collaborate with risk, data, and business teams; track global developments.
* Sustainability Materiality Assessment: Conduct portfolio‑level climate and nature materiality assessments using qualitative and quantitative tools; apply frameworks such as TNFD, ISSB, NGFS; deliver insights to inform strategy, risk, and disclosures; embed materiality insights across Group.
* Sustainability Model & Insights: Produce high‑quality research and analysis on emerging sustainability topics; apply data interrogation and econometric techniques; produce research outputs, briefings, and thought leadership for senior executives; monitor policy, technology, market, and environmental trends; engage with internal and external experts; develop relations with stakeholders.
What you Will Bring
* Economics, Finance or Sustainability‑focused background with 5+ years in financial services, public policy, industry or academia. A PhD is an advantage.
* Experience producing high‑quality research or technical outputs suitable for external publication.
* Ability to identify high‑priority sustainability issues and apply rigorous research, producing digestible outputs for stakeholders.
* Ability to keep pace with evolving sustainability frameworks and ensure research, modelling, and assessments remain credible.
* Comfort working with imperfect data, creative problem‑solving, and transparent assumptions.
* Strong collaboration across diverse business areas and stakeholder groups.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for senior stakeholder engagement.
