An established and growing mechanical engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join its Dublin-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering mechanical projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards across a range of commercial, industrial, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover
Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved
Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and delivery
Oversee procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract services
Monitor project financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting
Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and company procedures
Manage site teams, providing leadership, direction, and support
Attend and lead project meetings, preparing progress reports for stakeholders
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Ensure quality standards and specifications are met throughout project execution
Manage commissioning and handover processes, including documentation and client training
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Mechanical Project Manager role
Strong background in building services, preferably within commercial, industrial, or pharma environments
Proven track record of delivering projects from inception to completion
Excellent project management and organisational skills
Strong commercial awareness and cost control ability
Effective leadership and people management skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Proficient in MS Office, project planning tools (e.g., MS Project), and reporting systems
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
Experience working on large‑scale or technically complex projects
Familiarity with BIM and modern construction technologies
Knowledge of Irish building regulations and standards
Relevant professional accreditation (e.g., Chartered Engineer status or working towards it)
