are delighted to partner with a Global Life Insurer to hire a Financial Reporting Accountant on an initial 6 month fixed term contract (FTC).
Key Responsibilities:
* Support business units through the reporting process and review their submissions.
* Support the preparation of statutory accounts including completing a technical review to ensure all reporting requirements are met and complete for year-end audit.
* Support in the improvement of the financial reporting process, specifically relating to growing statutory and regulatory disclosure requirements.
* Prepare and review templates and schedules to facilitate the consolidation process, including preparing consolidation journals, elimination, and group intercompany reconciliations.
* Support the preparation of financial results, including completing analytical reviews of subsidiary accounts submissions within required deadlines.
* Work to ensure that any points raised by internal or external audit are promptly resolved.
* Support the design and maintenance of a Group Compliance and Internal Controls Framework encompassing the development and maintenance of the Group Accounting Manual, reporting templates and instructions for all subsidiary businesses.
* Support in embedding the risk culture and control framework within Group Finance, including identifying risks and controls, and remedial actions to address all points.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, CPA or ACCA) with 3+ years PQE.
* Insurance industry experience preferred.
* Group Reporting and Consolidation experience
* Excellent IFRS knowledge (preferably including IFRS 17 experience)
