Mechanical Quantity SurveyorLocation:LimerickSalary:€75,000 to €85,000 DOEExperience:Minimum 3 yearsA Mechanical Quantity Surveyor is required to support high value pharmaceutical, life sciences and mechanical process piping projects in the Limerick region. The role focuses on commercial management, cost control and contract administration for mechanical packages. This position suits someone with strong mechanical construction experience and previous work with an engineering or mechanical contractor in Ireland or the UK.The Mechanical Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project and commercial teams to manage budgets, procurement activity, subcontractor pricing, variations and financial reporting. The role is central to ensuring mechanical works are delivered within budget and scope.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare mechanical cost estimates, bills of quantities and project cost plansMonitor budgets and maintain accurate cash flow forecastsReview subcontractor tenders and supplier quotations and prepare commercial comparisonsAdminister contracts including pricing, scope review, variations and compliance checksPrepare valuations, interim payments and final account settlement documentsTrack commercial risks and assess the impact of scope changesMaintain procurement schedules and track long lead itemsLiaise with subcontractors and suppliers on pricing, commercial queries and clarificationsPrepare commercial reports and participate in project progress reviewsSupport commercial close out and handover documentationRequired Experience and SkillsMinimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in mechanical, M & E or process piping projectsDegree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldStrong knowledge of mechanical systems and installation processesExperience managing subcontractor procurement, tenders and variationsStrong commercial awareness with the ability to track costs and forecasts accuratelyExcellent analytical, numerical and reporting skillsStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with contractors, suppliers and internal teamsPrevious experience working with a mechanical or engineering contractor in Ireland or the UKEligible to work in Ireland without the need for a work permit
