CPi Biotech is a highly successful and rapidly expanding Irish-owned Biopharma Engineering Company based in Cork. We are a leading manufacturer of single-use technologies (SUTs) for the biopharmaceutical sector, specialising in single-use assemblies and bioprocessing skid systems. We design and manufacture SUTs for global biopharma and have an international client base in Ireland, Europe, and North America. We also have a technology division, CPi Technology, providing and integrating Specialist Equipment & Engineered Skids to the complex process industry sector in Ireland.
Role Summary - HR Specialist Part-Time
CPi is seeking an experienced and people‑focused HR Specialist to support our growing organisation within the biopharma and life‑science sector. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Irish employment legislation, managing HR policies and processes, driving recruitment, supporting conflict resolution, and maintaining a positive, high‑performance work culture.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a regulated, quality‑driven manufacturing environment and will be confident collaborating with managers across the business. This is a permanent part-time position (2.5/3 days per week) based in Little Island, Cork, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Experience in manufacturing, biotech, life sciences, or a regulated environment is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workplace Policy Management – Compliance & Implementation
Develop, update, and implement HR policies, including the Company Handbook, in line with Irish employment legislation, WRC Codes of Practice, and internal quality standards.
Ensure adherence to GDPR for employee data processing and record retention.
Communicate policy updates and provide training or guidance to managers and employees.
Conduct periodic policy compliance checks and recommend improvements.
2. Conflict Management & Employee Relations
Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, ensuring issues are handled promptly, confidentially, and fairly.
Support managers with informal conflict resolution, mediation, and, when required, formal grievance/disciplinary procedures.
Maintain accurate ER case documentation and ensure processes align with WRC requirements.
Provide coaching to managers on best‑practice people management.
3. Maintaining Work Culture
Support and promote CPi Biotech's culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Coordinate well-being and engagement initiatives.
Analyse engagement/pulse survey results and support the business in creating action plans.
Identify cultural risks or opportunities and propose solutions.
4. Recruitment & Interviewing
Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for technical, operational, commercial, and support roles.
Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and competencies.
Conduct CV screening, structured interviews, and coordinate technical assessments.
Maintain a strong candidate experience and manage the pipeline.
Build talent pools and maintain relationships with external recruiters when needed.
5. Maintaining Employee Records
Manage all employee documentation, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance.
Maintain HRIS data, including contracts, right‑to‑work documents, training records, and absence records.
Prepare HR metrics reports (headcount, turnover, absence, recruitment KPIs).
Support payroll preparation with accurate employee data changes.
6. Performance Appraisals & Development
Coordinate the company's annual and mid‑year performance review cycles.
Train managers on performance management, feedback, and development planning.
Track completion rates and follow up on development actions.
Support competency development and training plans across the business.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in HR, Business, Psychology or related field.
CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) strongly preferred.
5+ years' experience in a HR generalist or specialist role.
Strong working knowledge of Irish employment law, WRC Codes of Practice, and GDPR obligations.
Experience in manufacturing, biotech, life sciences, or a regulated environment is an advantage.
Experience managing recruitment cycles and employee relations cases.
Strong IT proficiency and Microsoft 365.
