Overview
The Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will support commercial delivery of public lighting and infrastructure projects by preparing accurate cost estimates, managing subcontractor and supplier quotations, supporting contract administration, and contributing to financial and project reporting activities. The role is suited to an experienced QS looking to develop expertise in public infrastructure, utilities, and commercial cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and project quotations
Review client requirements, drawings, and site information to support accurate pricing
Source and manage quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
Track and manage commercial quotations using CRM or commercial management systems
Support subcontract management including payment claim evaluation
Prepare interim valuations, progress claims, and final account submissions
Compile and substantiate variation claims and extension of time claims for clients
Provide cost reporting and financial performance updates to senior management
Support tender preparation and submission activities for major projects
Assist with contract management and commercial administration
Work closely with procurement, production, and project teams to support delivery strategies
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline
Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience in a QS or commercial role is desirable
Valid working rights to work in Ireland
Proven experience working in team-based and independent project environments
