We are seeking a Head of Risk to lead and evolve the risk management function within a fast-growing fintech payments business based in Dublin. The role will take ownership of the company’s risk framework, ensuring effective oversight across operational, regulatory, and product risks as the business continues to scale and launch new payment solutions.Working closely with the senior leadership team in a small, collaborative executive group (including the COO, Head of IT, Head of Compliance, and Head of Finance), the successful candidate will drive a practical and proportionate approach to risk management within a card and payments environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the enterprise risk management framework, including risk appetite, governance, and reporting.Deliver risk identification, monitoring, and clear metrics to support business decision-making.Implement and maintain risk control self-assessments (RCSA) and manage audit findings.Oversee risk related to card products, outsourcing arrangements, and operational resilience.Support new product initiatives, including open-loop and virtual card products.Work closely with leadership to ensure risk processes remain practical, concise, and embedded across the business.RequirementsStrong background in risk management within cards, payments, or retail banking.Experience with outsourcing, IT risk, and operational resilience frameworks (e.g., DORA).Ability to operate independently in a lean organisation with limited resources.Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex risk issues into clear, actionable insights.PCF approval from the Central Bank of Ireland (or prior PCF experience strongly preferred).
