Group Financial Controller - Wicklow
Overview
A well-established, growing group is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead its finance function. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will own day-to-day financial operations, deliver accurate and timely reporting across multiple entities, and support the ongoing development of finance processes, systems and people.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with the Finance Director on the overall performance, direction and development of the group finance function.
* Own the monthly and annual reporting cycle, including management accounts, key balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analyses.
* Take responsibility for day-to-day finance operations (including payroll and supplier payments), ensuring strong controls, efficient processes and good working capital management.
* Lead group cashflow planning, budgeting and reforecasting, highlighting risks and opportunities to senior management.
* Ensure all statutory, tax and regulatory obligations are met across the group and coordinate a smooth external audit and year-end process.
* Manage and develop a small finance team, embedding clear standards, KPIs and continuous process improvement to enhance the quality and usefulness of financial information.
Experience & Skills
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
* Strong post-qualification experience in a Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
* Proven track record of leading a finance team and managing the full month-end and year-end process.
* Experience working with multi-entity structures and consolidations is highly desirable.
* Strong technical accounting skills and solid understanding of financial controls and regulatory requirements.
* Comfortable working with ERP/finance systems and driving process/system improvements.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
* Hands-on, organised and commercially aware, with a focus on accuracy, deadlines and continuous improvement.
