Job Overview: We are seeking a proactive and analytical R&D Business Partner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support our R&D function by collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. You will contribute to product initiatives, operational processes, investment decisions, team efficiency, product roadmaps, and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with R&D leadership to develop and execute financial strategies supporting innovation and product development goals.
* Provide data-driven evaluation of R&D investment decisions to optimize resource allocation for maximum ROI.
* Assist R&D and product teams with financial analysis and modelling, including effort categorization across Roadmap, Unplanned work, Infrastructure & Support.
* Collaborate with product operations to analyze performance metrics and drive efficiency improvements, including tracking story points, time records, code rework, and pull requests.
* Establish KPIs such as Cycle Time, Lead Time, Uptime, Bugs/Time to Resolution, Deployment Frequency, Task Resolution Rate, Burn Down Rate, and Roadmap End Dates to focus team efforts.
* Monitor and evaluate the ramp-up time of new hires to improve onboarding processes.
* Review and analyze product portfolios focusing on gross margin performance, including cloud and third-party costs.
* Work closely with procurement and accounts payable to improve vendor management and lead negotiations with key technology providers, including cloud services.
* Report on "Paid Development" revenues and collaborate with leaders on funded roadmap expansion initiatives.
* Coordinate with Sales Operations and Product teams to ensure proper product pricing on a commercial basis.
* Partner with Tax and R&D teams to maximize global R&D grants.
* Support M&A activities through technology/customer due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
Required Experience & Skills:
* 5+ years of experience in finance, business analysis, product operations, or related fields, preferably in SaaS or tech companies.
* Experience working with R&D, product management, or operational teams is highly desirable.
* Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills.
* Proficiency in financial software and tools; ERP experience (e.g., Jira) is a plus.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Advanced Excel, BI platforms, and modern financial analysis tools.
* Knowledge of product development processes and Agile methodologies is advantageous.
