The Role
Reporting directly to the Environmental Manager, you will be a key player in maintaining the company's "license to operate." This isn’t just about ticking boxes—you will support all aspects of environmental compliance across the facilities and contribute to high-impact, group-wide sustainability projects. You’ll be joining a team dedicated to running highly flexible, efficient power plants that are essential to a modern, sustainable energy system. We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our team at the company Power Station; this role will play a key role in ensuring that our operations are at the highest standards of environmental compliance, performance and sustainability.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Support all aspects of environmental compliance across the plants, including liaising with the EPA, environmental consultants, and specialist contractors as required.
Provide support to the plant and the wider business on ESG, CDP, and CSRD activities, including data collection and reporting.
Develop production tools, systems, and processes to enhance monitoring, fault-finding, and analysis of environmental and chemistry parameters at the plant.
Identify opportunities for energy reduction and efficiency improvements across the power plants.
Manage or contribute to site-based projects at the plants as required.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, implementing improvements in environmental compliance and operational performance.
What you'll need
Qualification to degree level in an environmental, engineering or energy discipline.
Experience in an environmental, energy or chemistry role within a power station or equivalent environment.
Experience of managing or supporting technical projects.
Experience of developing detailed technical reports, procedures or policies.
Experience of interacting with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters.
