Working under the direction of the Site Agent – Structures, the role will ensure that all structural activities are executed safely, in accordance with drawings, specifications, programme requirements, and airport operational constraints.

Key Responsibilities include: Site Engineering & Construction Set out and oversee the construction of structural elements, including reinforced concrete, foundations, steelwork, and associated works Ensure works are carried out in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, and technical standards Provide engineering support to site teams and subcontractors during construction Resolve technical issues on site in coordination with the design and commercial teams Quality Control Implement and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for structural works Ensure all works comply with quality standards and project specifications Carry out site inspections, checks, and surveys, ensuring accurate as‑built records Manage non‑conformances and corrective actions related to structural works Health, Safety & Environment Ensure compliance with project HSEQ requirements, site safety rules, and airport regulations Promote safe systems of work and ensure method statements and risk assessments are followed Support safety audits, toolbox talks, and site briefings Maintain high standards of housekeeping in structural work areas Programme & Coordination Assist the Site Agent in managing the programme of structural works Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and plant operations to meet programme targets Liaise with other disciplines (civils, M&E, architectural) to ensure integrated delivery Identify potential constraints and support mitigation measures Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress records, and technical queries Prepare and close out RFIs, technical submittals, and as‑built documentation Provide regular progress updates to the Site Agent – Structures Support handover documentation and project close‑out activities Essential criteria Legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland Willingness to complete a 5-year background screening as part of the hiring process Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering Proven experience in a construction engineering role with a focus on structures Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structures Experience working on large infrastructure or complex construction projects Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction sequencing Ability to read, interpret, and implement structural drawings and specifications Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Effective communication skills with site teams, subcontractors, and management Ability to work in a live aviation environment with strict operational constraints Desirable criteria Experience on airport, aviation, or high‑security live environments Familiarity with Irish and UK standards (Eurocodes, IS EN standards)Relevant Safe Pass and airport security clearances (or ability to obtain)Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng / CEng MIEI) status In return, you will be working on a high profile 'once in a lifetime' project where you will be supported by a collaborative team in a learning environment.
