Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the estimating and tendering function to secure new projects.
* Present tender reviews to senior management upon receipt of new tenders.
* Assign responsibilities for works proposals and site visit requirements.
* Analyse plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation to produce competitive bids.
* Research materials, equipment, and labour costs.
* Issue tender enquiries to subcontractors and specialists promptly.
* Compile risk and opportunity registers, including alternative and value engineering options.
* Develop detailed preliminary budgets in line with project duration and staffing needs.
* Formally review tenders with Directors before submission.
* Assess financial, technical, and operational risks associated with projects.
* Stay updated with the latest construction technologies.
* Maintain detailed records and generate comprehensive reports.
* Produce tender analysis of winning bids for handover to the project team.
* Monitor construction contracts and highlight potential risks.
* Identify and promote new business opportunities.
* Provide advice on alternative construction methods.
* E nsure tendering processes align with quality accreditation and continuously improve systems.
Requirements:
* Quantity Surveying degree qualification preferred, with 5-10 years of post-qualification experience.
* Experience in a variety of projects, including Residential, Civil, Commercial, Retail, Pharma, and Public Works.
* Proven team management experience with the ability to mentor junior staff.
* Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
* Strong understanding of construction technology and building detail.
* Proficiency in estimating/surveying/accounting software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Strong work ethic and a collaborative mindset.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Preferably based in the North Leinster / Midlands region.
* Safepass certification required.
