Job Title: Associate - FDM Division/Function: NTMA FDM Unit Contract Type:23 Month FTC **** Closing Date for Applications 29th October 2025 **** Summary of the Business: The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities. Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, the National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund. In addition, the NTMA assigns staff and provides services to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland and Home Building Finance Ireland (together the "Affiliate Agencies"). Role Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated Graduate to join theNTMA FDM Uniton a 23-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2026. The programme is open to graduates with a degree in Accounting/Finance/ Economics/Commerce or a related discipline. The placement will sit in the Funding and Debt Management unit (FDM). FDM is responsible for borrowing on behalf of the Government and managing the National Debt in order to ensure liquidity for the Exchequer and to minimize the interest burden over the medium addition to its core functions of borrowing for the Exchequer and debt management, the FDM Unit performs several other functions including: Prudential management of Exchequer Cash including daily short-term cash management operations Responsible for the ongoing development of primary and secondary markets for Irish government securities Broadening the investor base and diversifying the State's sources of funding. Managing debt held by retail investors under the Ireland State Savings programme. Production of and reporting on National Debt Service and National Debt estimates Carrying out treasury operations and providing a Central Treasury Service The work of the associate will vary across the rotations. The rotations will include work in business areas including Primary, Secondary, Cash, Operations, Fiscal, Economics and Retail. Experience Ability to work in a highly professional environment, managing internal and external relationships. The candidate should hold a relevant third level qualification or equivalent relevant professional qualification. Skills Team player, self-starter, highly motivated and capable of working on own initiative Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills are a prerequisite for this position as relationship building is key in our complex organisation Methodical approach to completing assigned tasks and monitoring exercises Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong Microsoft skills (e.g. excel, powerpoint) Good analytical skills and capacity to form balanced and objective views At the end of the programme the successful Associate will have developed a solid knowledge base of the NTMA FDM unit and the wider NTMA.
