Founded in 1994, Complete Laboratory Solutions (CLS) is Ireland's highest accredited contract laboratory and a leading provider of sampling, analysis, and analysts to the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, and environmental industries.
In addition to analysis and testing at our commercial laboratories, CLS builds strategic partnerships with clients to deliver flexible and managed quality solutions (FlexiQ) by supplying highly skilled, work-ready quality professionals on a temporary, project-specific, or long-term basis. This service can be provided at a CLS site or directly at the client's location.
Job Title, Summary & Reporting Line
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to identify business opportunities, drive growth, and maximize cross-selling across all divisions. This individual will be responsible for building sustainable client relationships, developing strategic partnerships aligned with our laboratory capabilities, and identifying new business opportunities. The role requires frequent travel to customer sites nationwide and to our head office in Galway.

The Role
Sales Growth & Contracts
* Identify new business opportunities to drive sales growth.
* Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through research, networking, and outreach.
* Collaborate with the Department Director and Marketing team to develop strategies to meet revenue targets.
* Use CRM tools to track activity, manage the sales funnel, and report on performance metrics.
* Prepare and present proposals and contract renewals.
* Negotiate contracts ensuring terms and pricing are competitive and aligned with company objectives.
* Ensure contract compliance and address disputes or issues.
* Conduct market research on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions.
* Represent CLS at industry events and trade shows.
Commercial Account Management
* Monitor account performance and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs.
* Serve as the main contact for clients.
* Meet regularly with clients to review accounts and explore further opportunities.
* Coordinate with internal teams to meet client needs and ensure service delivery.
* Provide feedback to management based on client input and market insights.
Candidate Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or relevant experience.
* Approximately 5 years of experience in business development.
* Experience in the laboratory services industry is a plus.
* Experience with public procurement and tender writing is advantageous.
