McSharry Pharmacy Group are currently recruiting for a Junior Category Buyer.This role base is in our Head Office in Galway with frequent instore visits required.The role is 4 days a week.Key ResponsibilitiesCategory & Range ManagementSupport the development and execution of category strategies across OTC, Vitamins Skincare, beauty, and healthcare.Assist in analysing sales data and market trends to optimise product ranges, pricing, and promotional activity.Help identify new product opportunities and contribute to range reviews and innovation.Manage supplier orders in line with agreed schedules to maintain stock availability.Supplier & Commercial ManagementSupport negotiations of supplier agreements, trading terms, and promotional plans under guidance from senior team members.Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, wholesalers, and brand partners.Assist in planning seasonal activity, in‑store promotions, and marketing campaigns with suppliers.Retail & Store SupportWork closely with retail and operations teams to ensure smooth implementation of promotions, planograms, and product launches.Help maintain consistent category standards and merchandising across all stores.Performance & ComplianceMonitor category performance, stock levels, and profitability through regular reporting.Ensure compliance with internal processes, pricing accuracy, and relevant regulatory requirements.RequirementsExperienceMinimum 1 years' experience in buying, category management, or a retail commercial role, ideally within the pharmacy sector.Experience working within an Irish pharmacy chain is an advantage.Demonstrated ability to manage product ranges or support commercial decision‑making.Skills & CompetenciesStrong commercial awareness with an analytical mindset.Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and with McLernons EPOS systems.Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time‑management skills.Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow within a fast‑paced commercial environment.Job Type: Part-timeExpected hours: 32 per weekBenefits:Bike to work schemeEmployee discountOn-site parkingWellness programExperience:Pharmacy Buying : 1 year (required)Work Location: In person
