The Opportunity
We are working with a private equity‑backed professional services group executing an ambitious buy‑and‑build strategy across Ireland.
The business has strong market positions, a clear value‑creation plan, and committed financial backing to accelerate growth through acquisitions, operational improvement, and technology enablement.
The Role
As CFO, you will take full ownership of the finance function and financial strategy, while playing a central role in M&A execution, integration, and value creation.
This is a broad, hands‑on role suited to a commercially minded finance leader comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, acquisitive environment.
Key responsibilities
Acting as a core member of the executive leadership team, contributing to strategy, decision‑making and performance management
Leading all aspects of financial control, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash management
Owning the PE relationship, Board reporting and lender interactions
Leading M&A activity, including financial diligence, deal execution, funding, and post‑acquisition integration
Building a scalable finance operating model, systems and controls to support growth
Supporting operational and commercial performance, including pricing, margin analysis, and resource planning
Helping shape and deliver the exit strategy over the investment horizon
Key requirements
We are seeking a CFO with a strong blend of technical finance, transaction experience, and commercial judgement.
You are likely to bring
Prior experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a PE‑backed, owner‑led or acquisitive business
A track record of working in professional services, business services, or other people‑led environments
Hands‑on experience of buy‑and‑build strategies, including integration of multiple acquisitions
Strong understanding of PE governance, value creation levers, and exit readiness
The gravitas to operate at Board level, combined with a pragmatic, sleeves‑rolled‑up approach
ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent) qualification preferred
